Gray is a 35-year veteran of the Commercial Real Estate Industry which began with Coldwell Banker Commercial Group in the early 90’s and later migrated to a 20-year stint with CBRE, and more recently to Vice Chairman and Principal of Colliers of Virginia, which ultimately sold to Colliers Inc. Gray is now a proud Partner at 7 Hills Advisors Hampton Roads, LLC. Throughout his career Gray has worked globally with notable transactions in London UK, Padua Italy, Brisbane Australia, and many states throughout the USA, including many in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
Gray’s experience spans decades from the 90’s through the first 25 years of the 2000’s. He has experienced most cycles, and with his world view, has a keen level of perspective of the complexities of the real estate markets, cycles and transactions. Gray’s primary focus throughout his career has been in the office sector and he has closed transactions with Fortune 500 companies, small local groups, and every size in between. Gray’s philosophy is bringing parties together to reach a mutually beneficial outcome while simultaneously creating a solid work environment for his clients. His knowledge of construction, space planning and HVAC also assist in his structure of the transaction.
Gray is a graduate of Old Dominion University in Business and is also a Certified Sommelier, as well as a French Wine Scholar. Gray has also been dedicated to charitable causes with his time. He has been VP and President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Virginia, VP and President of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Virginia, and Vice Chairman of the Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation, which has donated more than $10M to children's charities. Gray was most recently both Vice Chairman and Chairman of GuildSomm, which is one of the largest Sommelier organizations globally.
